Amanda of WhirleyGirl Designs

While most of her days are spent painting on other people's walls, you can often find Amanda doodling her new ideas on paper in various coffee houses around Chicagoland or chilling at home with her family, friends, and beautiful cats.

After growing up in Chicago and Buffalo, she matriculated to Kent State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Crafts. After five years of working in the field of recreational therapy, she began painting murals for her friends in her free time. After seeing the smiles spread across the faces of her friends as they viewed their finished murals, she recognized that WhirleyGirl Designs was her calling, and has been muraling ever since.

In her own words:

"I LOVE what I do! I love playing with all the wonderful colors of each tube of paint, I love watching my brush transform a plain white wall into a magical mural beyond imagination, and I love meeting all sorts of new people during the process."

"It is my ultimate hope that each mural I create brings with it the spirit of joy, creativity, and whimsey!"

Amanda currently resides in the Chicago suburb of Naperville, and has been recently featured in various local newspapers. In addition, she leads monthly creative art sessions in various Chicagoland nursing homes under the name "Art with Amanda."
